Keep Attendees Relaxed With Stress-Relieving Giveaways

Help guests feel calm and refreshed, both during and after your event, with relaxing gifts.

According the Statistic Brain Research Institute, 77 percent of people in the U.S. “regularly experience physical symptoms caused by stress.” The No. 1 cause of stress, unsurprisingly, is job pressure, which is closely related to stressor No. 2, money. Health issues, relationship problems and poor nutrition also contribute to stress.

These stressors don’t necessarily go away when people leave the office, either. For example, media overload — of which there’s no shortage at an educational event — is the sixth-greatest cause of stress. To help attendees decompress at the end of each day and retain information, consider providing stress-relieving swag. Here are some ideas.

Adult Coloring Books

Doodling has proved to be an effective creative-thinking tool, so meeting professionals should provide ample supplies. But adult coloring books are also beneficial for improving focus and relieving stress. Provide a coloring book, along with some colored pencils or crayons, as thank-you gifts that attendees can enjoy in their hotel rooms, on a plane or even at home.

Stress Balls

A tried-and-true tool, a stress ball helps release tension and reduce stress by requiring the user to repetitively squeeze the malleable sphere. But did you also know that it can boost blood circulation and strengthen hands and wrists? Toss a couple in your giveaway bags for immediate stress relief.

Aromatherapy

Aromatherapy can help stimulate attendees’ senses both on- and off-site. A small bottle of scented sprays such as lavender, chamomile or frankincense can help guests keep their cool in the meeting room or help them relax when they’re away from the office.

Massages

In addition to its stress-relieving capabilities, a massage can also help alleviate some of the physical symptoms often caused by stress, such as headache and insomnia. Consider giving away a coupon for a massage at a facility in your event location or nearby or providing massage stations at your event for a few moments of stress relief.
